Advances in Neurorehabilitation

Overview:

Occurrences of neurological disabilities increase dramatically as people age.  Stroke, spinal cord injury, traumatic brain injury and neuromuscular disease typically result in profound disruptions to an individual's ability in everyday activities.  New research on neural repair and applications of rehabilitation strategies are changing the processes of restoring function for persons with disorders of the nervous system, helping minimize disability and allowing people suffering from these disorders to live quality lives.

The program will focus on the most contemporary approaches to improving recovery after neurological injury across a broad professional spectrum from biomedical and molecular therapies to the hi-tech employment of robotics and virtual reality.

The Advances in Neurorehabilitation Conference will bring together leading neuroscientists, rehabilitation specialists, clinicians, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, engineers, and a variety of experts with different scientific backgrounds.  Professionals will be able to share new ideas, present research findings and discuss the unique challenges facing medical communities around the world concerning the aging population and the relative increase in prevalence of neurological disorders.
