Advanced Valuation and Due Diligence
An Investor Ready ™ all day workshop for investors and entrepreneurs

Due Diligence (what investors really want) - effective due diligence is one of the most critical steps in successful angel capital. This half day drill-down workshop takes the angel investor and entrepreneur through the key issues which will determine major risk factors and deal breakers. The workshop emphasizes what must be confirmed, the cost of confirming, and the risk of not knowing. Workshop attendees learn what it takes to validate the plan and to define and contain the risk of investment. Due Diligence interview on the American Frank Peters show.

Valuation of Early Stage Companies – getting the price right is key to funding. This half day program presents several key methodologies that many experienced angel investors have found as fundamental approaches to properly valuing early stage companies. Includes;

·       Risk Factor Summation Method

·       Venture Capital Method

·       Scorecard Method

The importance of portfolio strategies and portfolio returns in valuation is also discussed.

When & Where: Monday September 10, 2012 - 7:30 am to 6 pm, Room 7000 on 7th floor of Simon Fraser University - Harbour Centre, 515 West Hastings St. downtown Vancouver, BC. One block from Waterfront SkyTrain station (from Airport or Region) Map of Streets / Parking and nearest hotel.

Why attend?
If you are planning to invest in or raise private equity in the next 12 months, ask yourself:

  • Do you know what investors look for in fundable deals? Learn how investors think. Being prepared for due diligence beforehand saves time and money.
  • What key business functions should investors focus their due diligence on to finalize their funding decision?
  • Can you determine and discuss at least 3 ways to correctly value an early stage private company? Too high a valuation may drive investors away.
  • How do investors value companies, dilution impact and valuation negotiations?
  • Want to network with private equity experts, investors and entrepreneurs?

Who Should Attend?

  • Experienced CEOs or CFOs of fast growing companies who are seriously looking for multiple angel or VC investors.
  • Individual Investors (angels and family/friends of entrepreneurs) investing in early stage companies.
  • All attendees must have some understanding of equity venture capital such as knowing the difference between debt, common and preferred shares.
  • Want to present at the Angel Forum? This Investor Ready workshop is almost mandatory for pre-revenue companies
