Symposium publication
The due date for manuscripts submitted to the publication from the Symposium is now Friday 31 October 2008.  Please send your manuscripts to the GLOBEC International Project Office (globec@pml.ac.uk) with "Rome symposium manuscript by [author's name]" in the subject field.  Please send manuscripts in pdf format.  Please follow the style for a journal article, such as for the journal Marine Policy.(http://www.elsevier.com/wps/find/journaldescription.cws_home/30453/description#description).

The timetable for processing manuscripts is tight so as to publish these materials in a timely manner the proposed schedule is as follows:

31 October 2008: Submission deadline for manuscripts
30 November 2008: Initial review of manuscripts by Symposium convenors and issue Editors
30 November 2008: Manuscripts out for review
15 February 2009: Manuscripts returned to authors after review and processing by Editors
30 April 2009: Revised manuscript due date
15 June 2009: Return of manuscripts to authors following further review (if necessary) and decision by Editors
30 July 2009: Due date for final versions of manuscript
Late 2009/early 2010: Publication
   
The form of the publication for the symposium is being discussed with book publishers and journal editors.  Leading candidates with whom we are in discussions are Springer for a book, and Global Environmental Change for a special issue, although other publishers are also being considered.  More details will follow.
