Association for the Study of Religion, Economics, and Culture

Annual Meeting
April 3-5, 2009, Washington DC

DC Cherry Blossum

Proposals due December 15, 2008
Completed papers due March 15, 2009

A Bigger Conference and Better Location: ASREC’09 will be our first independent meeting.  We expect a much larger and more diverse group of scholars than ever before – economists, political scientists, sociologists, demographers, and many others – plus journalists, policy specialists, and government officials.  The DC venue offers many benefits, including ease of travel and access to Washington’s monuments, museums, parks, and institutions.  Early April is “peak bloom” time for DC’s famous cherry trees, so bring the family and enjoy the sights!

Participate in the Conference: Although we are no longer accepting paper proposals, we invite you to participate in the conference by attending the event.  Select "Conference Details" from the menu on the left for more information on the conference location.

The Association for the Study of Religion, Economics, and Culture exists to promote scholarship on religion, economics, and culture through: an annual meeting; thematic sessions at other conferences; websites, newsletters, and working papers; increased funding for research; networks of scholars and students; and broad dissemination of findings.
