Get in

by train

You can reach Kiel from some major European cities and all major cities in Germany via train. If you arrive by train, get off at Kiel Hauptbahnhof (main train station) which is located in the city centre. Exiting the train station to your left brings you directly to the city bus stops. by ferry

by plane

Hamburg Airport is the nearest international airport and is located 100km south of Kiel. If you arrive in Germany by plane you might be able to use rail&fly. Click here for further information.

From Hamburg Airport there is a shuttle bus called KIELIUS operating between the airport and Kiel city centre 19 times a day, seven days a week. Travel time is approximately 1:30 h. Also a shared taxi ride (KIELEXX) is available between the Airport and any street address in Kiel. Travel time is approximately 1:00 h. NOTE THAT THIS SERVICE IS NOT AVAILABLE ON SATURDAYS.

Get around

There is a dense net of city buses available in Kiel by the KVG. One adult fare is 2,40€ (prize level 2) and a day ticket costs 8,-€.
To get to the venue from the city centre / main train station you can take bus 50 (timetable, leaving from platform C1: map,15min) or bus 62 (timetable, leaving from platform C3: map, 17min) or bus 81 (timetable, leaving from platform D1: map, 22min). For all busses get off at "Universität".
